Let's start off this review by you thinking of that song - Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
Keep that in your head for later.
Pretext - we drove from Brisbane to Burrum Heads yesterday.
BC (before child) we could do it in around 3 hours 😊
AC (after child) 5 hours 😩
5 hours of Tiny Teddies, Chicken Crimpy biscuits, me passing water bottles, toys, books, hats & a Gingerbread Man.
We even stopped & enjoyed a train ride around the Buderim Ginger Factory 🚂
So I work up after hitting snooze 4 times to 4 different alarms 🚨
Got up, mid wee selfie 🤳, woke up on the toilet 🚽 thinking "where the fuck am I"?
Different house, different toot.
Shower 🚿 & then a mad panic thinking I didn't pack my sports bras.
Thank the Lord I found them!
I borrowed my Mums car, her very flash, very low to the ground Mercedes, to drive to parkrun. She was going to mind Will for me and I wanted her to have the car with the child safety seat just in case.
I'm my mad rush to get in the car I whacked my head sooooo bloody hard on the doorframe I gave myself a concussion 🤕
So the song now goes ~ Oh Lord, don't you buy me a Mercedes Benz....
It was pitch black when I left, 49k's from
Burrum Heads down the Bruce Highway to Maryborough - thank you to Siri again for finding her way to Anzac Park.
I stuffed around in the car getting my bits & pieces together.
I slowly emerged from the car, still slightly concussed.
It was cold.
1 nipple erect cold 📍
The other was just being lazy 😴
I was greeted by friendliest bunch of people! Everyone wanted to say g'day, so many photos📸
Now I had looked at the parkrun website the night before, the course description was a 3 lap loop - I can handle that.
The run brief told me otherwise.
Apparently that was the old parkrun course.
Ready, set, go!!!!
Now this was when everything went downhill.
About 5 steps into the run my undies just rolled in down.
They rolled down and bunched just under my bum.
It looked like I had shit my nappy 💩
That is where they stayed for the remaining 4.99k
The run wound its way through the park up to a turn around point, back through the pack up to a road, alongside the footpath, up the street, turn left, run, turn left, run, turn around and go back 🔚🔙🔛🔜🔙🔛🔚
Thank god for Catherine & Michelle who ran with me. Now these ladies are much much faster runners than I but they gave up their usual Speedy Gonzalez times to encourage me along but also show me the way to go.
Without them I would have been seriously lost - at times there was no one in front of us or behind us.
Now as Catherine & Michelle ran along they had a great old chin-wag. I struggled with every breath, imagine Darth Vader breathing.
On the home stretch we passed the golf course 🏌️we ran past a group of male golfers, I was concerned I might put them off their swing with my sexiness 👄
There was no dog shit on the path to report 💩
As we turned in to final stages of the run Michelle yelled motivational things at me, I can't remember what the hell she said but it worked, I charged ahead.
I charged over the line in 33.21 - that's 8 seconds off last weeks PB!! 🏅
I want to say thank you so so so much to Catherine & Michelle, in that last little stretch when I was running my little heart out, they didn't run ahead of me, even though they they could of.
They let me pass the finish line before them, they pushed me right to the end.
You ladies are fucking champions 🏆
Thank you so much to everyone at today's parkrun, you all made me feel so welcome, in particular Kris, Linda, Katherine, Robyn, Catherine, Andrea, Sharyn, Michelle, Renee & Debbie!
Thank you the ladies who I went to breakfast with at A Spoon full of Sugar cafe Maryborough Qld 🍳🥓☕️
Did you know the author of Mary Poppins was born in Maryborough? 🌂
And finally, sorry to the Mary Poppins statue I groped.....👐
