Redcliffe

Redcliffe parkrun

After 3 alarms I got out of bed🚨
Mid wee selfie 🤳
Shower 🚿
Dressed 💋
Feed the kid 🧒🏼
Pack the car 📦
In the car 🚗
On the road to Redcliffe 🗺

Our trip was pretty uneventful.
The drive was lovely.
The last time Ben had been to Redcliffe there was a wooden bridge to cross 🌉
I honestly couldn’t remember coming to Redcliffe. Ever.

We found the parkrun spot.
Loaded up the pram with the kid & waited for it all to start.

Ben took Will to the playground while I ran. Ben has a bruised Patella 🤕

Run brief done
We made our way to the start line.
Ready.
Set.
Go 🚦

And we are all off & running.
Along a lovely boardwalk.
Just follow the path.
⬆️ Past the cafe ☕️
⬆️ Past the surf lifesaving club 🏄‍♀️
⤴️ Round the bend in the path
⬆️ Past the lagoon Will would later shit in 💩
↩️ turn around point

Run all the way back ⬇️⬇️⬇️
In the hot, hot, hot sun ☀️
Seriously, that summer heat was relentless 🔥

Run run run past the start line ⬇️
Run run run back down the boardwalk ⬇️
Ahh shade 🌫
Finally 😇
Ohh fuck. Shade gone 😮
The only shade on the course was cast by a 6 meter wide toilet block 🚽

Back in the sun I ran ☀️
Finally I hit the turn around point ↩️
This is where I met Kellie.
It was hot.
We were sweaty 😰
We were rooted.
But we just kept on going 👯‍♀️

Pushing one another along.
Struggling 😫
Every step we took got harder & harder.
Running in the sun, no matter what course you are on is hard.
The sun physically sucked the life out of me ☠️

But we just kept.
On.
Going 👊
Me, yelling out the distance we had left.
Kellie, wishing I would shut the fuck up.

I bullied Kellie over the line in 33.27.
It was hot 😡
It was tough 💪
But it was absolutely worth it 👍

I got to catch up with my friends Judy who was volunteer photographer, Georgia, Nicole, Miss Chloe & Miriam from Chermside parkrun, my friend/security guard Talisha even made the trip to Redcliffe for the day.
Ohhh and Toni who was celebrating her 249th parkrun 😱

I also got to catch up with Kristy & Donna, ohh and Miranda too!

Would I run Redcliffe again?
Absolutely.
I reckon in the cooler months it would be the perfect PB course ❄️

But next I go I will avoid all vegan cafes, I don’t ever want to drink something call Mylk again.
Ohh & I need to stay away from Whats Your Team footy shop.
I spent a ridiculous amount on Broncos gear for Will.
Including an sleeping bag, that will be perfect for his year 5 school camp 2026.
