Last night I did the 10k MS Moonlight Walk at Southbank.
I was asked to be a part of the Princesses with Prams team 👸
As you can probably tell we were a team of Mums/Grandmothers pushing prams.
I was in a team of absolute Milfs, I'm more like the different stepsister.
I was asked to be a part of something.
To be part of someone's team.
The person that never gets picked for anything.
My schooling years were horrendous.
I was always the fat girl.
Primary school was particularly bad.
Teachers make a 2 people captains and they choose the teams by calling out people's names.
I was the left over that no one wanted.
Every. Single. Time. 😥
High school - not so much as I just refused to do P.E.
Outrightly refused 🙅
I'm writing this because I don't have the guts to say it to your faces.
Wendy, Krystelle, Erika & Rosalie - thank you from the bottom of my heart for asking me to be part of your team.
I hope you get a chance to read this.
Krystelle, you were an amazing team captain - you made Will & I feel welcomed into your close group.
You organised a team uniform, even though I'm 10x bigger than you girls you made sure I had the exact same outfit.
For that I am so thankful.
Fark! I'm actually balling my eyes out writing this!
If your reading this and it strikes a chord with you - do something about it!
If you know someone who you think just may want to do something with you - ask them.
You have no idea how 1 simple question of "do you want to join us?" can lift someone's spirits
